We are very pleased to extend greetings on behalf of the Local Organizing Committee for the CSCE’s 48th annual conference, which will be held in beautiful Saskatoon. We hope you enjoy the wonderful hospitality that makes Saskatchewan one of the best places to visit in Canada!
Our conference theme is Tradition and the Future. Steeped in tradition and valued for innovation, modern civil engineering bridges the gap between what came before and what is yet to come. CSCE 2020 in Saskatoon brings a diversity of perspectives and grand traditions of civil engineering, building on the foundations of our profession, and looking to the future of an ever changing world, new expectations, and increasing focus on diversity, inclusion, and climate.
We have secured several high-profile and interesting keynote speakers around the conference theme and the general interest and challenges of the professional community we are all part of. We will kick off the conference with a Diversity Panel presentation that will set the stage for the rest of the conference.
The technical program is strong with specialty conferences in Environmental, Structural, Engineering Materials, along with technical tracks in History of Engineering and Asset and Infrastructure Management, among others.
This year’s historic site commemoration will dedicate the South Saskatchewan River Project, including the Gardiner Dam, which will be celebrating its 53rd of operation in 2020. The Technical Tours will demonstrate the leading-edge technology and research advancements in Saskatchewan including light source technology, medical vaccines, agricultural advancement and environmental treatments.
The social program and conference events will reflect the strong hospitality that Saskatchewan is proud of, along with providing the ability to increase your knowledge of aboriginal history and diversity challenges we all face. The conference will provide many opportunities for networking and establishing new connections.
We are excited to have you visit our province and to let you in on Our Little Secret, Saskatoon Shines and the land of the living skies awaits you!
